What are the symptoms of CKD?

CKD often has no symptoms in the early stages and is only picked up through routine tests. As the damage to the kidney’s progresses, you may notice:

  • Tiredness
  • Swollen ankles, feet or hands
  • Nausea
  • Shortness of breath
  • Blood in your urine
  • Passing urine more frequently than usual, particularly at night

If you have any of these symptoms which are persistent or worrying you, please speak to your GP.
