Welcome to our website! We hope you find it useful.

We are looking for new members to join the Patient’s Participation Group to represent all age groups. We meet quarterly on a Wednesday morning at 10.00am to discuss changes to the surgery and services that affect patients. They are informal and start with a cup of tea/coffee and there is no obligation to attend every meeting.

The group consists of around 16 patients. Not all attend all meetings and instead give feedback via email or a telephone discussion with the Practice Manager. This is to ensure we gain views from across the patient age range and appreciate that due to time or childcare issues it is not always possible to attend meetings during the day.

The group provides a forum to:

  • Share information about the practice, the locality (9 local practices and the wider NHS)
  • Enable patients to raise non-medical issues with the practice
  • Enable feedback for trainees - both negative and positive
  • Identify practice difficulties for patients e.g. Breast screening location access, bowel cancer screening access
  • Initiate, support and evaluate supplementary services and to give feeback on existing services
  • Engage in identifying specific practice questions as part of patient surveys
  • Evaluate results of patient survey and identify areas for development/review as part of an action plan
  • Opportunity to engage in emergecy planning
  • Opportunity to engage in Care Quality Commissioning (CQC) visits to provide a patient perspective.

If you are interested in joining, leave your name with the reception team and you will be sent papers for the next meeting together with an invitation to attend.

Where there is no membership for meetings or more, it will be assumed they no longer wish to actively participate in the group.

Virtual Patient Group

We appreciate that not all patients are able to or interested in attending the patient group meetings, however it is important for you to be able to feed in and contribute to decisions, to receive important information and for us to be able to gather comments from a wider patient group.

The virtual patient group works with e-mail addresses provided on registration.  We anticipate at least annually emailing patients asking for comments on services available from the practice or within the local area, and to encourage participation in the practice survey.  Patients can opt-out of the service by
informing reception who will remove their e-mail address from the clinical system.

Where we have no have e-mail information for those patients already registered with the practice and patients wish to participate please let reception know.
